Merrill C. Meigs Field Airport (IATA: CGX, ICAO: KCGX)
Chicago Meigs Field was once the busiest single-strip airport in the country, it appeared in computer flight simulators and games and had the beautiful Chicago skyline in the background.
The airfield is now Northerly Island park, it has beautiful public walks with prairie grasses. The park has the same view of the skyline and overlooks Lake Michigan.
For those interested in the history of Chicago Meigs Field, the terminal building still stands, and
is open to the public with exhibits inside.
